Behavior Consultation

$175.00 for non-aggression cases

$250.00 for aggression cases

Includes 90-120 minute professional observation and assessment of dog and owner in their home environment. Within 7 days of visit, a written observation and evaluation report with a proposed training plan will be provided to the owner for review.

*Prerequisite for all training programs, except puppy kindergarten.

 

New Puppy Selection Package (purchasing a puppy between 8 weeks and 5 months in age)

• Two hour family consultation to determine needs, desires, lifestyle, home environment, family structure, etc. with written evaluation and recommendations.
• Breeder/Shelter/Rescue research and selection/recommendation
• Individual puppy selection
• Home set-up with custom puppy proofing plan and supply shopping list (additional $30 for Chris to shop plus cost of items purchased)
• Puppy Kindergarten training (4 1-hour private training appointments)
• Puppy Socialization Class (6  ½ hour meetings for play and socialization in the real world)
• 10% off all future training

Adult Dog Selection Package (purchasing a dog age 6 months & up)

• Basic Training (six 1-hour private training appointments)
• Refresher Training (two 1-hour appointments) that may be scheduled for up to 2 years post-adoption.

 

OWNER COACHING

 

Puppy Kindergarten Training

For Puppies 8-20 weeks

$270.00 (save $30)

Includes four one-hour lessons with written worksheets and explanations covering the following topics:

Owners are coached in how to teach cues to their dog, how to reinforce the correct behaviors, redirect the incorrect ones, and how and when to use these new skills to create a well-mannered dog.

 

Puppy Playtime & Real World Socialization Class

For Puppies 8 to 20 weeks

$60 (recommended to coincide with puppy kindergarten or as a follow-up program)

Includes six 30-minute class meetings. Three meetings are devoted to appropriate play among the puppies to learn conflict resolution, learning proper social behavior and bite inhibition. The other three meetings will be conducted as puppy field trips, meeting at various in-town locations. The field trip meetings are designed to teach your puppy to meet and accept friendly strangers, cope easily with the stresses of in-town walks including sirens, rushing cars, as well as to instill good puppy manners in high energy situations.

 

Basic Training

Owners are coached in how to teach cues to their dog, how to reinforce the correct behaviors, redirect the incorrect ones, and how and when to use these new skills to create a well-mannered dog.

In addition, a more complex behavior modification program for a diagnosed problem behavior such as jumping up, destructive chewing, separation anxiety, etc. We can design programs and work collaboratively with your local vet or a veterinary behaviorist prescribing medication to treat serious issues.

 

 

 

DAY-TRAINING

A Behavior Consultation is required to determine suitability and program specifics. Within 7 days of consultation, a written observation and assessment along with a curriculum plan tailored specifically to the dog’s needs and family’s desires as well as a proposed schedule for training will be provided to the owner. Once all are in agreement, any of the following packages may be applied.

 

All schedules of day-training include a daily written short report of lesson, a weekly progress report, and a 45-minute monthly owner-coaching session to teach the owner all the dog has learned and provide operating instructions.
